Two key G.T. Reilly tax professionals retire

G.T. Reilly & Company bids farewell to two key members of our Tax Department who have retired this year.

Carol A. Magyar, CPA, MST, retired this spring after 37 years with the firm. Carol provided tax compliance for corporations, individuals and trusts, as well as estate planning, trust and estate administration and business consulting. She advised numerous family business owners through multiple generations.

Carol started her career in 1979 after receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University. She received her Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College in 1986.

Carol is a past president of the Norfolk & Plymouth Estate and Business Planning Council and is a board member and past treasurer for The League School of Greater Boston.

Thomas L. Engberg, EA, retired earlier this year after 27 years with the firm.

Tom possessed unique experience in U.S. taxation of foreign companies, as well as the tax laws of all 50 U.S. states. In addition to his tax services, Tom consulted with client companies on the design of their accounting software systems.

Tom received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Boston University in 1997.  He was later credentialed by the IRS as an enrolled agent.

All who worked with Carol and Tom at G.T. Reilly wish them the best in retirement.
